Inauguration of BGFI-BANK Congo’s new headquarters
It was in the presence of the President of the Republic, Denis Sassou Nguesso, that the inauguration ceremony of the new headquarters of BGFI-Bank in Brazzaville took place this Thursday 25 February 2016.
Built on the Boulevard Denis Sassou Nguesso and in the heart of Poto-Poto, this imposing banking architecture adds to the list of jewels lighting the environment of the Congolese capital. A capital whose landscape, we have noticed, is being refurbished overnight. Planted in Congo in 2010, BGFI-Bank for the past 15 years has been a national development partner, and its performance has always been on the increase. The bank’s profit for 2015 stands at 17 Billion CFA Francs, an exploit which justifies the construction of this new edifice at the dimension of the goals of this financial institution seeks to strengthen its hold on the economic development of the Republic of Congo. This is the reason for the overall satisfaction of the Congolese Minister of Finance, Gilbert Ondongo, who lauded the progress made by the banking sector in Congo from 2011 to 2015.
As a matter of fact, from the 4 banks planted over the national territory in 2011, Congo today has 11 banks with a total capital of 2269 Billion CFA Francs in 2015. This places Congo in the 2nd position in terms of number of banks in Africa. With 45 years of age, the BGFI-Bank Group is planted in 10 African countries and in France. Since its implantation in 2010 in Congo, it has accompanied the country in several development projects, notably the rehabilitation of the Chemin de Fer Congo Océan (CFCO), (the Congo Océan Railway Infrastructure), extension of the Pointe Noire Autonomous Port and the rehabilitation of the Brazzaville Autonomous Port.
